On Sunday Afternoon 11th September 2022 the Parish Council met on Mawsley Village Green and The Proclamation was read out to the Assembled Company of Parishioners concerning the Death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 8th September at Balmoral Castle, Scotland and the subsequent appointment of King Charles the third as Monarch of Great Britain and Ireland.

On Saturday September 3rd 2022 a service took place in Mawsley to celebrate the dedication of the memorial garden. The garden will now be known as the Leonard Carrington Memorial Garden in memory of a local resident, Corporal Leonard Carrington. As a boy Leonard Carrington lived in Cransley and worked on the farmland that is now Mawsley village.

The memorial garden in Mawsley will be renamed the Leonard Carrington Memorial Garden during a dedication service on September 4th starting at 3pm. The service will take place in the garden itself with refreshments available afterwards.
